Travelling to Liverpool in the 2013/14 season was almost the perfect ending in the championship ladder, especially after the Reds have the advantage of five points clear of Manchester City in three games the rest of the Premier League.
However, everything changed after Liverpool's 0-2 defeat of Chelsea and a 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace. At the end of Steven Gerrard and his friends ended the league in second place, disputing two points of Manchester City who managed to overtake at the last moment.
The story was also peppered with incidents of slipping former Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, which led to the first goal Chelsea, started the nightmare of the Reds.
For the first time, Gerrard reveals how the defeat was not solely caused by it.
"I've never been able to say this openly, but then I was very worried because we had thought could destroy Chelsea," said Gerrard in his latest autobiography, My Story.
"I feel an excessive confidence in Brendan's speech before the game. Finally we destroyed at the hands of Chelsea. I felt scared at that time and now I understand."
Gerrard statement was obviously not good news for Rodgers who is currently under pressure, following a series of poor results undertaken Liverpool today.
Was rumored to be deposed on Friday (25/9), Rodgers seems to still have the support of the Liverpool management to lead the Reds squad to face Aston Villa this weekend.
